Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf,
President of Tikrit University,
and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Sayaf Abdul Hussein,
Director of the Continuing Education Center,
and Assistant Lecturer Abdul Latif Sharif Shihab,
Secretary-General of the Central Library,
the Continuing Education Division at the General Secretariat of the Central Library, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific training course entitled:
“Fundamentals of Cataloging and Classification in University Libraries Using the Dewey Decimal System”
The course was held on 19–20 / 4 / 2026 in the hall of the Continuing Education Division (Central Library – Second Floor) at 10:00 a.m.
The course targeted the officials and authorized staff of library divisions in the university’s colleges, with the participation of a distinguished group of specialists and those interested in the field of library and information science. It addressed the most important concepts and scientific foundations related to cataloging and classification processes according to the Dewey Decimal System, in addition to practical applications aimed at improving the professional performance of employees working in university libraries.
At the conclusion of the course, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants and lecturers by the Secretary-General of the Library, in recognition of their efforts and valuable contributions to the success of this scientific event.
